An incredible week had by industry leaders and pharmacy students, the future industry leaders, as they attended the National Australian Pharmacy Students’ association (NAPSA) Congress 2023 held in Canberra during the week of 16th-20th Jan. The event provided a valuable opportunity for students and the Scrypt team to discuss the ever-increasing integration of pharmacy with the digital realm.

The use of digital solutions was one key topic of conversation on ways to enhance patient healthcare, increase customer engagement, and provide more deeply integrated services to increase pharmacy efficiency. Scrypt, a company that specializes in digital transformation, shared their insights on this topic. Sam Turner (General Manager) and Lloyd Smith (Co-founder), spoke on the evolution of ePrescribing and the digitalisation that is occurring in community pharmacy in Australia, as well as the importance of using digital tools to delight and effectively engage customers. This topic generated a high level of interest among students, who are eager to use such tools to provide a better healthcare experience for their patients.

During the Congress Tradeshow nearing the end an information-packed week, Justin Gillies (BDM) showcased two of Scrypt’s digital products – Scrypt.HQ & Scrypt.Mobile, both pharmacy-integrated platforms that enables effective customer engagement through easier communications, customer medication ordering & management, service recordings, and other dispensary workflow tools such as DAA bulk dispensing & Script Request reporting.

In true Scrypt fashion, free SCRYPT/NAPSA-branded stubby coolers were a highly sought after item from the students, with Scrypt also holding a guessing competition where attendees could guess “How many repeat papers are contained in the bundle?” with the 2 winners guessing closest winning a $100 Gift Voucher! With ePrescriptions, gone are the days of the bulky paperwork such as collating prescriptions and new repeat papers etc., which opens up many capabilities when it comes to digital workflows, prescription storage and management.

Overall, the NAPSA Congress 2023 in Canberra was a great success, and Scrypt will look forward to supporting the annual NAPSA event (With the announcement of next years event will be held in Tasmania), whilst also continuing the conversation with students on how to leverage technology to improve patient care and support the growth of the pharmacy industry.
